Our Life Is Compared To A Race. Here’s What That Means For You.

By Kyla Daw | The Blog

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 1 Corinthians 9:24

Our culture has hammered into us a temporary perspective and with that comes the trap of feeling like what you are experiencing now will be what you experience forever and that is a lie.

Ever been in a situation where you just feel “stuck”? It seems hopeless, pointless and like it’s never going to change. All you want to do is just move on and forget it ever happened, but then… you wake up the next morning and it’s still there?

We’ve all had those moments in our lives, for some people it lasts a few weeks, for some people it lasts months or unfortunately even years. We live in this fog of hopelessness and wonder if we will ever see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Now, going back to this scripture.

You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? Galatians 5:7

I’ve heard this scripture many times.  But God showed it to me in a totally different way the other day.

When running a race there are two things that are always certain.

You will always have a beginning and you will always have an end.

No Matter what.

So because God compares our life to a race here’s what this means for you;

It means that your situation that you are in will always be certain of two things; it will have a beginning and an end.

God will never ever leave us hanging. He always promises that he’s with us thought thick and thin.

No matter what you are going through today, I can guarantee you this one thing; It WILL end and you will NOT stay in this place. God is not that kind of God. He will not leave you stuck. He can’t, it’s not in Him.

“Who has held you back from following the truth?

Often a distraction can come in a mess up our perspective.

Ask God if that’s happened, let him show you, and then move it aside.

If our life is compared to a race, and it is, then you can absolutely take it to the bank that you will move past this place of struggle. And I can promise you that you welcome God into the struggle, mess, situation whatever it is, trusting Him to have whatever outcome he desires, You will look back in for example a year and say “Wow, God, you we’re right there.”

Take it with You:

  1. Put God First. If we seek Him first, everything will fall into place. (Matthew 6:33)
  2. Keep it in perspective. Everything on this earth is temporary. Including your circumstance.
  3. Trust God. We try to hard to fix and cling to something. Don’t. Give it to God, he can handle it.
  4. Be Real. Tell him that you don’t know what to do here, tell him you feel stuck, ask him for the wisdom and desperation to get out. And then. Watch and see what He will do.
